Description
Sweet, smoky turkey bacon-wrapped beef/turkey sausage bites baked until caramelized and crisp.
Ingredients
1 lb beef or turkey smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
12 slices turkey bacon, cut into thirds
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
Toothpicks for securing
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Wrap each sausage piece with a strip of turkey bacon and secure with a toothpick.
3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
4. Roll each bacon-wrapped piece in the seasoning mixture until well coated.
5. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet and bake 20-22 minutes, or until the turkey bacon is crisp and the sugar has caramelized.
6. Let cool slightly before serving so the glaze can set.
