Description
Warm, sweet caramelized pears paired with creamy brie on toasted baguette slices for an easy, elegant appetizer.
Ingredients
1 large ripe pear, thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 baguette, sliced into 12 rounds
4 oz brie cheese, sliced
1 tbsp honey (optional drizzle)
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and place the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
2. Bake the slices for 6-7 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the pear slices, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Cook 4-5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
4. Top each warm baguette slice with a piece of brie and a spoonful of caramelized pears.
5. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until the brie slightly melts.
6. Finish with a light drizzle of honey and a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
7. Serve warm.
Notes
Use a firm but ripe pear so the slices keep their shape.
