Description

Crispy mozzarella sticks with a golden crust and melty cheese center, perfect for easy homemade snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

12 mozzarella string cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

2 tbsp water

1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

1. Unwrap the mozzarella sticks and freeze them for at least 1 hour until very firm.

2. Set up three bowls: flour in the first, eggs whisked with water in the second, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the third.

3. Dredge each frozen cheese stick in flour, coating fully.

4. Dip into the egg mixture, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

5. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more for extra crispiness.

6. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F in a deep skillet or saucepan.

7. Fry mozzarella sticks in batches for 30-45 seconds, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

Freezing the cheese sticks helps prevent leaking during frying.
