Description
Savory ground beef cooked in a simple sauce and served in crisp lettuce cups for an easy, fresh dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp neutral oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 green onions, sliced
1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated
Instructions
1. Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes.
3. Stir in garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Pour in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil, stirring well to coat the beef.
5. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly saucy and glossy.
6. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
7. Spoon warm beef mixture into lettuce leaves and serve immediately.
Notes
Add chopped water chestnuts or shredded carrots for extra crunch if desired.
