Description

Easy ground beef Philly cheesesteaks made in one skillet with melty provolone and soft hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (80/20)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 hoagie rolls, split

8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook for 5-6 minutes, until softened.

3. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add the ground beef and cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking it up, until fully browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

5. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Reduce heat to low, lay the provolone slices over the beef, cover, and cook for 1-2 minutes until melted.

6. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into the hoagie rolls and serve warm.

Notes

Lightly toast the hoagie rolls for extra texture.
