Sweet, savory Korean-style ground beef served over warm white rice for an easy, comforting dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 tsp vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups cooked white rice
2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart, about 6-8 minutes.
3. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes.
5. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
6. Serve the beef over warm cooked white rice and finish with sliced green onions.
Notes
Let the beef caramelize slightly at the end for deeper flavor.
