Description

Flaky puff pastry cups filled with mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, perfect for a simple Valentine’s appetizer.


Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

4 oz fresh mozzarella pearls

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried basil

Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin.

2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 12 equal squares.

3. Press each square gently into the muffin cups, forming small pastry cups.

4. In a bowl, toss cherry tomatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and dried basil.

5. Place a few mozzarella pearls into each pastry cup, then spoon tomatoes on top.

6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until pastry is golden and cheese is soft.

7. Remove from oven, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Let cool slightly before removing from the pan to keep the pastry crisp.
