Description

Warm, flaky puff pastry bites filled with sautéed mushrooms, thyme, and shallots.

Ingredients

Scale

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

1 small shallot, finely minced

8 oz cremini mushrooms, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp all-purpose flour

1/4 cup vegetable broth

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Melt butter with oil in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté shallot until soft.

3. Add mushrooms, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook until moisture evaporates.

4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir, then pour in broth and cook until thickened.

5. Cut puff pastry into 2-inch squares and spoon a small amount of filling into the center.

6. Fold edges slightly inward, brush lightly with egg wash, and place on the baking sheet.

7. Bake 15-18 minutes until golden and crisp.
