Description
Warm, flaky puff pastry bites filled with sautéed mushrooms, thyme, and shallots.
Ingredients
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small shallot, finely minced
8 oz cremini mushrooms, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Melt butter with oil in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté shallot until soft.
3. Add mushrooms, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook until moisture evaporates.
4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir, then pour in broth and cook until thickened.
5. Cut puff pastry into 2-inch squares and spoon a small amount of filling into the center.
6. Fold edges slightly inward, brush lightly with egg wash, and place on the baking sheet.
7. Bake 15-18 minutes until golden and crisp.
