Description

Flaky puff pastry twists filled with basil pesto and Parmesan, baked until golden and crisp.


Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

3 tbsp basil pesto

2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Unfold the puff pastry and spread the basil pesto evenly over the entire surface.

3. Sprinkle the Parmesan on top, then fold the pastry in half lengthwise.

4. Cut into ½-inch strips and twist each strip several times.

5. Place twists on the sheet, brush lightly with egg wash, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.

6. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until crisp and deep golden.

7. Cool slightly before serving so the layers stay crisp.

Notes

Chill shaped twists if pastry becomes too soft before baking.
