Description
Creamy sausage Alfredo pasta bake made with tender penne, rich homemade Alfredo sauce, and melty cheese, baked until golden.
Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
1 lb beef or turkey sausage, sliced
3 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Cook the penne pasta in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef or turkey sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, melt the butter, add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream, cooking until slightly thickened.
5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth. Add the cooked pasta and sausage, tossing to coat evenly.
6. Transfer to the baking dish, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden. Garnish with parsley if using.
Notes
This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
