Description

Seared steak on crisp crostini with a cool and tangy horseradish cream.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb flank steak

1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tbsp prepared horseradish

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tbsp chopped fresh chives

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and brush baguette slices with 1 tbsp olive oil. Toast 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.

2. Pat the flank steak dry, season both sides with salt and black pepper.

3. Heat remaining 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear the steak 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.

4. Let the steak rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

5. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, and chives until smooth.

6. Spread a small dollop of horseradish cream on each crostini and top with a slice of steak.

Notes

Chill the horseradish cream 10-15 minutes for best flavor.
