Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp neutral oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
Instructions
1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season lightly with garlic powder and ground ginger.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
3. Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until lightly golden.
4. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
5. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping once, until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens.
6. Remove from heat, rest 2 minutes, slice, and spoon sauce over the top.
Notes
Let the sauce simmer briefly after removing the chicken if you want an extra glossy finish.
